Adams was optioned to the alternate training site Wednesday.
The 26-year-old was recalled over the weekend and struggled in his team debut Monday, allowing three runs on four hits across 1.2 innings. Adams could rejoin the big-league roster later in the year, but for now he'll participate in workouts at the alternate site.
