McArthur (elbow) will begin a rehab assignment with Double-A Northwest Arkansas on Wednesday.
McArthur has not pitched anywhere since 2024, first due to surgery to repair a fractured right elbow and later because of an additional procedure on the elbow to combat recurring inflammation. He should rejoin the Royals' bullpen later this month if things go well on the reliever's rehab assignment.
