The Royals acquired DeJong from the White Sox for right-hander Jarold Rosado on Tuesday, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Timesreports.
The two teams are currently in the midst of a three-game series in Chicago, so DeJong will simply head to the other clubhouse. The veteran shortstop likely won't see much time at his natural position due to the presence of Bobby Witt, but DeJong could see action at second and third base. DeJong has a .228/.275/.430 slash line with 18 homers in 102 games this season and is likely to see less consistent playing time for the Royals than he did with the last-place White Sox.
