Mets shortstop Ruben Tejada, who is recovering from a right quadriceps strain, is scheduled to begin his minor-league rehab assignment later this week, Terry Collins told ESPN Wednesday.
Tejada is expected to start his rehab with the Gulf Coast League affiliate before completing his assignment at Triple-A Las Vegas. He hit .209 before landing on the disabled list on May 30. He is expected to rejoin the big-league club after he completes his rehab.
