Royals catcher Salvador Perez hit his eighth home run Friday.
Perez stepped to the plate in the fifth inning with the bases empty. On the third pitch of the at-bat, Perez hit an 83 mph splitter from Hisashi Iwakuma out to left for the solo shot. Perez finished 2 for 4, with one run and two RBI.
