If Oakland starter Jarrod Parker needs to go on the disabled list due to his neck injury, the Athletics are likely to recall right-hander Sonny Gray, the team's top pick in 2011, the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Gray has pitched well for Triple-A Sacramento and is on the same turn in the rotation. Gray's last start was cut short due to rain. He's gone 3-1 over five outings with a 2.61 ERA with 25 Ks over 31 innings. On May 1, he went the distance and allowed one run with six Ks at Fresno.
