Brault has signed with the yet-to-be-named Atlantic League based in Frederick, Maryland.
Brault, 30, was limited to just nine innings with the Cubs last season because of shoulder issues. He'll try to prove his health with Frederick as he looks to garner interest from big-league clubs.
