The Tigers recalled Hanifee from Triple-A Toledo on Friday.
Hanifee owns a 3.29 ERA and 1.39 WHIP through 13.2 innings with Detroit this season, but he's given up 11 earned runs in just 12 innings since being sent down to Toledo on June 12. His recent struggles in the minors will likely limit him to low-leverage work with the Tigers.
