The Tigers recalled Garcia from Triple-A Toledo ahead of his scheduled start Monday in Seattle.
Lefty Joey Wentz was demoted to the minors Sunday to clear a spot on the active roster for Garcia, who is set to make his fourth start of the season for Detroit. Over his previous three outings in the big leagues spanning 13.2 innings, Garcia was charged with five earned runs on nine hits and eight walks while striking out 11.
