Rogers is out of the lineup Monday against the Guardians.

Rogers had started behind the plate in three of the Tigers' last four games, but he'll be back on the bench for the series opener with Cleveland. Even after the Tigers traded fellow catcher Carson Kelly away to the Rangers on Sunday, Rogers could find himself as the No. 2 backstop for Detroit. The Tigers promoted Dillon Dingler from Triple-A Toledo on Monday, and he'll be put to work right away as the team's starting catcher. Like Rogers, Dingler is regarded as a glove-first catcher, but he might bring more offensive upside to the table after breaking out with a .938 OPS over 301 plate appearances at Toledo this season.
