Baez is not in the starting lineup for Sunday's series finale against the Brewers.
Baez will begin Sunday's game in the dugout after starting in each of the first two games of the series, going 1-for-7 with two strikeouts. The lefty-hitting Zach McKinstry will start at shortstop and bat seventh against Milwaukee right-hander Bryse Wilson.
