Verlander (groin) was able to throw off flat ground Wednesday, but the Tigers have yet to determine whether he'll be able to make his next start Saturday against the Red Sox, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.
The Tigers likely won't make a call on Verlander's status for the weekend until he completes his usual pre-start bullpen session Thursday. An earlier MRI ruled out any structural damage for Verlander, so if he's forced to miss time, it's unlikely that he would be in store for a lengthy absence.
