Tigers pitcher Justin Verlander is already throwing two bullpen sessions a week in preparation for spring training. Which, for Verlander, is not all that uncommon. Except, last season, Verlander could not do so, because he was still recovering from a core muscle injury that required surgery.

"Last year I hadn't even picked up a ball at this point," he said Friday according to The Detroit News.

Verlander finished 2014 with a 15-12 record in 206 innings with a 4.54 ERA and 159 strikeouts.
