Carpenter went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI in Tuesday's 6-2 win over the Angels.
Carpenter gave the Tigers the lead on an RBI single in the fourth inning and then crushed a 425-foot home run in the sixth. In 12 games since returning from the injured list, the 26-year-old has gone deep five times and driven in 11 runs. He will likely continue to sit against most southpaws but has a fantastic .314/.366/.657 slash with 13 homers and 39 RBI in just 169 at-bats against righties this season.
