Carpenter went 1-for-4 with a walk, a three-run home run and an additional RBI in Friday's 7-5, 10-inning loss to the Red Sox.
Carpenter provided a key blast in the eighth inning as the Tigers clawed back from a 4-0 deficit to eventually force extra innings. He now has 14 long balls this season, with six of those coming in just 15 games since he returned from the injured list Aug. 13. Carpenter has turned into a dynamic fantasy performer when healthy.
