Vierling is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the White Sox.
Vierling will retreat to the bench after starting in each of the past three games while going 5-for-11 with a home run, two doubles and two walks. Zach McKinstry will replace Vierling in the Detroit outfield, manning left field while batting seventh.
