Solak cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Toledo on Sunday.
Detroit designated Solak for assignment on Friday, but he'll remain in the organization after passing through waivers unclaimed. The 28-year-old hasn't seen action in the big leagues this year and has a .709 OPS at the Triple-A level.
