Farrell was optioned to the Twins' alternate training site Saturday, Brandon Warne of Access Twins reports.
Farrell's contract was selected by the Twins on Tuesday, and he allowed no hits and two walks while striking out one in one scoreless inning during his lone relief appearance. He'll now head back to the team's alternate camp after Caleb Thielbar was activated from the COVID-19 injured list.
