Jeffers entered as a defensive substitute to relieve Mitch Garver in the top of the eighth and stayed in to deliver a solo home run in the bottom of the eighth off position player Jordan Luplow. In limited opportunities in the month of August, the Twins' backup catcher has hit .294, well above his season average of .214.
