The Astros released Buttrey on Tuesday, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.
After putting up a 5.40 ERA and 1.83 WHIP through 13.1 innings with Triple-A Sugar Land, Buttrey will now look to latch on with another organization. The 30-year-old righty hasn't pitched in the majors since 2020.
