White Sox rookie left-hander Carlos Rodon was brilliant in his start against the Angels on Tuesday. Rodon established a new career-high with 11 punchouts, as he blanked the Angels over seven solid innings. He scattered four hits and walked one in the 3-0 victory.

Rodon (5-4) did a great job of keeping the Angels off balance and avoiding any damage, as no runner got to third base during Rodon's seven innings. Aside from the first inning, he retired the first batter to face him in each inning, lowering his ERA to 4.61.

It was a big rebound effort for Rodon, who had given up 12 runs in 7 2/3 innings over his previous two starts. His 11 strikeouts on Tuesday are the most for a White Sox rookie since 1993.
