The White Sox designated Kuhl for assignment Saturday.

Across 31 appearances with the White Sox, Kuhl turned in a 5.06 ERA and 1.52 WHIP alongside a 54:25 K:BB across 53.1 innings. Despite his poor numbers, he had been working in somewhat of a high-leverage role, though he only managed to log one save while playing with one of the worst teams in modern baseball history. His removal from the active roster will make room in the bullpen for Michael Soroka (shoulder), who returned from the injured list Saturday.
