Montgomery (wrist) is starting at shortstop and batting eight for Friday's game against the Tigers.
Montgomery exited Wednesday's game against the Guardians with a bruised left wrist after he was hit by a pitch from Parker Messick earlier in the contest. After sitting out Thursday, Montgomery is back in action against Detroit. He's gone 10 straight games without a home run and was recently dropped to the eighth spot in the order.
