Thorpe (elbow) is scheduled for a rehab start with Triple-A Charlotte on Tuesday, James Fegan of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Thorpe has slowly built up his workload since embarking on his rehab assignment in mid-July, with the right-hander having completed five innings in each of his last two outings. Tuesday's start may be his last before being cleared to return from the IL. However, with five healthy starts in the White Sox's rotation and Davis Martin (finger) expected to be back in late August, Thorpe could stay in Charlotte as he has minor-league options remaining. Thorpe is in the final stages of his recovery from Tommy John surgery that he underwent in April of 2025.
