Eder was recalled from Triple-A Charlotte prior to Friday's game against the Athletics.
Once a promising prospect in the Marlins' system, Eder had Tommy John surgery in 2021 and hasn't recaptured his pre-surgery combination of wipeout stuff and starter-level command. He has a 9.87 ERA and 1.99 WHIP in 34.2 innings across nine starts for Charlotte. Eder will work in one-inning relief appearances, per Scott Merkin of MLB.com.
