Shuster came away with a no-decision in Wednesday's 4-3 extra-innings loss to the Angels, giving up one hit and striking out one over three scoreless innings.
The 26-year-old lefty was making his fourth start in 37 big-league appearances this season, and the three frames represented Shuster's biggest workload since a four-inning relief stint July 26. He's put together decent numbers in a swingman role this year, posting a 4.35 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 52:29 K:BB through 70.1 innings, but it's not clear whether the White Sox will give him another crack at winning a full-time spot in the rotation next spring.
