Shuster (1-4) took the loss against Cleveland on Monday, allowing three runs on five hits while striking out five batters over 2.2 innings.

Though Shuster was deemed an opener for the contest, he tossed 47 pitches, 35 of which were strikes. That good control helped him finish with five punchouts and no walks, but the southpaw also gave up three extra-base hits, including a solo homer to David Fry. Shuster has tossed at least two frames in 20 of his 35 appearances this season, making him a logical candidate to work as an opener -- which he's now done three times this season -- when the White Sox decide to go that route.
