White Sox's Jonathan Cannon: Suffers 10th loss
Cannon (3-10) took the loss Tuesday, allowing three runs on seven hits and one walk over 5.1 innings against Cleveland. He struck out four.
Cannon picked up his fifth loss out of his last six starts with this 91-pitch appearance. The 24-year-old rookie fared well through the first five innings, scattering six hits that produced one run, before unraveling in the sixth. He left two runners on via a walk and single that were promptly driven home when reliever Gus Varland yielded a homer to his first batter faced, Lane Thomas. Cannon has now failed to reach five strikeouts in six consecutive starts, during which he's struggled to a 6.16 ERA, 1.70 WHIP and 23:14 K:BB across 30.2 innings. He is projected to make his next outing against the Angels in Los Angeles next week.
