The White Sox designated Urquidy for assignment Tuesday.

The right-hander was acquired from the Pirates at the trade deadline and pitched decently in six outings (one start) for Chicago, posting a 4.37 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 15:5 K:BB over 22.2 innings. However, Urquidy hasn't seen the mound since Sept. 8 and has now lost his place on the 28-man and 40-man rosters. Noah Schultz was called up to round out the bullpen.
