Wilson (back) will begin a rehab assignment Wednesday with Triple-A Charlotte, James Fegan of SoxMachine.com reports.
Wilson was placed on the IL on Aug. 17 with a lower-back strain, but the fact that he's already heading out on a rehab assignment suggests that he should be ready to rejoin the White Sox when he's first eligible Friday, or shortly thereafter. With the active roster expanding to 28 players Sunday, the White Sox could wait until that day to bring the righty reliever back.
