Volpe went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and an additional run against the Phillies in Monday's 14-4 victory.
Volpe batted out of the No. 9 hole for the first time this season, but that didn't seem to effect his approach at the plate. The shortstop built onto a big Yankees lead in the eighth inning, swatting a two-run homer to give the team a seven-run advantage. Volpe has homered three times in his past seven games and is batting .313 (10-for-32) with four RBI over that stretch.
