Chapman said he would appeal any possible suspension in relation to his domestic violence allegation from October, Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports reports.

Chapman isn't facing criminal charges for the incident, but he may still be subject to MLB's new domestic violence policy that was implemented in August. Commissioner Rob Manfred said he hopes to have a ruling by Opening Day, which shouldn't be much of an issue now that Chapman has completed his interview with the league. Even if he misses the start of the season, Chapman is still expected to serve as the Yankees' closer once he's available.
