Wells is not in the lineup for Friday's game versus the Rays due to food poisoning, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.
Wells received a routine day off Thursday and will miss a second straight game after he woke up ill overnight. Consider him day-to-day. J.C. Escarra will do the catching and bat sixth for the Yankees on Friday.
