Washington got the potential tying run to the plate, but Bednar hung on to successfully convert his eighth straight save chance. The 31-year-old right-hander has been especially dominant of late and is now riding a scoreless streak of 19 innings. Through 40 frames for the year, Bednar boasts a 2.70 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 45:12 K:BB with 18 saves in 20 opportunities.
