Yankees' David Bednar: Nails down 17th save

Bednar struck out the side in a perfect ninth inning Friday to record his 17th save of the season in a 5-2 win over the Twins.

The veteran closer fired 11 of 17 pitches for strikes as he converted his seventh straight save chance, with his last blown save coming May 17. Over 16 innings since then, Bednar has delivered a 0.56 ERA, 0.75 WHIP and 20:5 K:BB, and he's reeled off 13 straight scoreless appearances.
