German was recalled by the Yankees on Thursday.
As expected, German rejoins the Yankees in time for the start of their series against the A's out in Oakland. He'll take the spot of Ronald Herrera, who was optioned after a rough outing against the Angels on Wednesday. German has just one major-league appearance this season, but he's posted excellent numbers at Triple-A with a 3.42 ERA to go with a 1.07 WHIP and 27 strikeouts over 26.1 innings.
