Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre reinstated Allen (undisclosed) from its 7-day injured list Wednesday and assigned him to Double-A Somerset.
Allen made his first appearance for Somerset on Wednesday, starting in left field while going 1-for-3 in the club's 5-0 win over Binghamton. The veteran outfielder had been on Scranton/Wilkes-Barre's IL since mid-June with an unspecified injury.
