The Yankees designated Jones for assignment Monday, Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reports.
Jones is the roster casualty upon Giancarlo Stanton's (hamstring) return from the 10-day injured list. The 26-year-old had posted a .685 OPS across 47 plate appearances with the Yankees this season.
