Rosario was claimed off waivers by the Yankees on Saturday and optioned to Double-A Somerset.
Rosario had been on the Red Sox's 40-man roster since November of 2020 but has yet to play above Double-A. He wasn't particularly good at that level in 2021, striking out 27.9 percent of the time while showing very little power. He homered just three times in 98 games while slashing .232/.335/.307.
