Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Berti (calf) hit and played catch Monday, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.
Berti recently experienced a setback with his left calf strain and received a platelet-rich plasma injection, but he was never completely shut down and should be ready for a rehab assignment before long. The utility player has been shelved since late May.
