Soto (knee) will start in right field and bat second Friday against the Athletics.

X-rays on Soto's left knee came back negative after he crashed into the outfield wall during Thursday's contest, and he appears to be feeling well enough to return to the field for Friday's series opener. Since the start of September, the 25-year-old is slashing .241/.405/.448 with three homers and seven RBI across 74 plate appearances, and he'll have a favorable matchup Friday against right-hander J.T. Ginn, who owns a 4.94 ERA on the season.
