Gil (back) will make a minor-league rehab start Sunday, MLB.com reports.
Gil exited his Aug. 20 start against Cleveland after three-plus innings due to lower-back discomfort, and he subsequently landed on the 15-day injured list. The right-hander has since been able to toss a live batting practice session of around 65 pitches, and he may not require more than one rehab appearance before rejoining the Yankees rotation. Gil is eligible to return from the IL on Sept. 6, which would be five days after Sunday's rehab start.
