The Yankees optioned Gil to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre after his start in Sunday's 7-4 loss to the Astros.
Gil was tagged with a loss after he tossed four innings and allowing six earned runs on five hits and three walks. The right-hander was coming off a scoreless outing in Boston on Tuesday, when he tossed 6.1 innings while striking out two.
