Gil (12-6) took the loss Monday against the White Sox, allowing four runs on seven hits and two walks over four innings. He struck out three.

The New York rookie failed to collect his third consecutive win against a feeble Chicago lineup that laced seven hits, the most Gil has allowed since giving up eight to Baltimore on June 20. The 26-year-old stumbled out the gate at Guarantee Rate Field, walking Nicky Lopez to open the game and giving up two run-scoring doubles in the first inning. Overall, Gil has now pitched to a 3.25 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 141:60 K:BB across 121.2 innings this season. He is currently scheduled to make his next start at home against Cleveland next week.
