Voit went 4-for-5 with a home run, a double, four RBI and two runs scored in Friday's 10-2 win over Minnesota.
The 30-year-old got the start at first base with Anthony Rizzo resting, and Voit made a substantial case to earn more playing time. He knocked in a pair with a single in the first inning, then added another RBI on a ground rule double in the fourth and capped off the impressive game with a solo shot in the seventh. Voit has swatted seven homers with 26 RBI, 21 runs scored and five doubles through 172 plate appearances, but he's likely to play second fiddle to Rizzo down the stretch.
