Cortes (8-10) got the win Monday, giving up four hits over 6.2 innings in a 5-2 victory over the Nationals. He struck out five and walked two batters.

Cortes stayed hot on the mound by picking up his third straight win Monday. After a stretch of games in which Cortes gave up 24 runs in five starts, he's bounced back by allowing just one run in his last three starts combined. The 29-year-old has seen his ERA come back down to 3.89 through 27 starts this season. He's scheduled to pitch again on Sunday against the Cardinals.
