Indians infielder Zach Walters was held out of the starting lineup Friday night at home against the Rays.
Walters has been limited to pinch-run and pinch-hit duties since Sept. 9 because of an intercostal injury. Because he doesn't receive everyday at-bats, his status for the final weekend of the season remains uncertain. Walters is hitting .171/.233/.407 over 123 at-bats.
