Stanton is not in the lineup for Monday's game versus the Royals, Max Goodman of The Newark Star-Ledger reports. Aaron Judge will occupy the designated-hitter spot Monday while Jasson Dominguez picks up a start in the outfield after being called up from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Stanton is in the midst of a 1-for-19 slide at the plate and could see his playing time dip upon Dominguez's arrival, though manager Aaron Boone told Laura Albanese of Newsday that Stanton will serve as the Yankees' DH more often that not. With that in mind, Alex Verdugo -- who will start in left field Monday -- could find himself as the odd man out of the lineup more frequently than Stanton.

Stanton went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in an 8-4 win against the Rangers on Monday. Stanton drilled a 418-foot solo shot to center field in the eighth inning. The slugger has gone deep in each of his first two games in September and has knocked in five runs across his past three contests. Stanton's 25 homers and 62 RBI in 2024 are each more than he posted last season, and he's improved his slash line considerably to .244/.303/.503 through 383 plate appearances.
