Wojciechowski was released by the Mariners on Sunday. He had an 8.77 ERA in 25.2 innings at Triple-A. Wojciechowski had more success when he was pitching one inning per outing and had actually logged three straight scoreless appearances.

Wojciechowski re-signed Feb. 8 with the Mariners on a minor-league contract. After finishing the 2021 season at Triple-A Tacoma within the Mariners organization, Wojciechowski elected free agency in November. He ultimately decided a return to Seattle was his best option, and while his new deal likely includes an invitation to big-league camp, he's probably not a serious threat for the Mariners' Opening Day rotation. The 33-year-old right-hander has spent parts of five seasons in the majors from 2015 through 2021, logging a lifetime 5.93 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and 21.5 percent strikeout rate across 202 innings over stops with the Astros, Reds, Orioles and Yankees.

Wojciechowski signed a minor-league deal with the Mariners on Wednesday, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports. Wojciechowski was designated for assignment by the Yankees earlier in the month and elected free agency after he cleared waivers. He'll report to Triple-A Tacoma initially but could contribute as either a starter or reliever in the majors prior to the conclusion of the season.

Wojciechowski elected free agency Saturday instead of accepting an outright assignment to the Yankees' minor-league system. Wojciechowski's contract was selected Wednesday ahead of his first start of the year. He was designated for assignment the next day after a passable performance in which he held the Phillies to two runs in four innings. He'll now be able to have his pick of future employers, though he may have a tough time finding a major-league contract considering that no team claimed him off waivers.

The Yankees outrighted Wojciechowski to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Saturday. The righty went unclaimed on waivers after being designated for assignment Thursday. Wojciechowski was decent Wednesday in his first big-league start of the season, lasting four innings and yielding only a pair of runs. It remains to be seen whether he'll rejoin the Yankees at some point for another spot start.
