Chen has signed a contract with the independent league Long Island Ducks. Chen is now 38 and didn't play anywhere in 2023 after pitching in Japan in 2021 and 2022. The left-hander hasn't appeared in the majors since 2019 and is certainly a long shot to ever do so again, but he's not yet ready to call it quits.
